This packaging design was from my son's class project. When my son said he had to design packaging for his class, I suggested, "How about a new tea package for spring?" I thought it would be a fun project and something that my son and I could discuss. When we thought homework was done and he passed his class, we heard from his teacher that his artwork was hung at Normandale Community College for an award ceremony in the South Suburban Conference. Initially, we went to look at other students' artworks, but when we heard the announcement "Kai To," we were very surprised (and overjoyed at the same time). He won the MN Google Doodle in 2022 and helped me develop many tea names for the store. (He is our unofficial tea taster!.) At our shop, we've often received a question about what Oolong tea is. Let me explain quickly.
Oolong is partially oxidized tea with a bolder flavor than green tea yet milder than black. Oolong contains a mixture of green and black tea polyphenols: catechins (green tea) and theaflavins (black tea). Oolong also provides caffeine and may promote weight loss. We are promoting 20% off our Tie Kwan Yin. It is a classic Oolong tea that is harvested in Fujian, China. A long time ago, they said Wei Yin, a poor farmer, passed a stone temple of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin (aka. Goddess of Mercy) every day. The temple was not in good shape. Despite how tired he was, he decided to use his spare time to improve the temple. As he slept one day, Bodhisatta Kwan Yin was in his dream and told him to visit a cave behind the temple. With his vivid memory, after he woke up and went to the location, he found a single tea shoot. That's how this tea name came about. Our Tie Kwan Yin has a light and floral roast. It can be re-steeped a few more times. Disclaimer: The information, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, and other material on this website, is for informational purposes only.
